Roseneath
Black Mortar Design Co. completed a remarkable renovation of Roseneath c.1870, a historic Queenslander on Taylor Street in Toowoomba. Originally built for JC Robertson, a stationer behind the iconic ‘Stationer’s Hall,’ the home boasts timeless features, including a front verandah with symmetrical gables and stunning stained glass windows. Notably, Welsh slate, sourced from the UK, graces the roof.
We worked closely with the owners to select interior and exterior paint colours, as well as interior fittings and finishes. Their vision was to restore the home’s former glory by enhancing its traditional charm while introducing modern elements. The result is a seamless blend of heritage beauty and contemporary style.
